Music....Peter Gunn various artists.
The beauty of owning one's own blog avails itself once again. Tonight, on the second day of 2013, we are able to create something we enjoy and hope our friends will as well. This is an offering of one of the great songs done by several different musicians and groups.
Click on the red letters and be taken to the Youtube rendition.
Jeff Beck's Les Paul Tribute Band
Each video/or rendition of the song is presented in a different way. One of the things so wonderful about artists and music is that each of them have unique perspective as to how a melody should be arranged.
Henry Mancini
This blogging effort, "The Boomer Magazine", has never done anything quite like this so it's a kind of fun first.
Duane Eddy and the Art of Noise
A little background.....New Years Eve, my eldest daughter sent me an urgent text telling me to immediately go to the Educational television channel. It seems some rockers were doing a really good tribute to the late guitarist, Les Paul.
The Blues Brothers
We scrolled through all the channels on this weird AT & T cable but never found what they were watching. Too bad. The next day, Jan. 1, 2013, daughter Linn sent a link to the tribute band's video doing one of my favorite songs, "Peter Gunn". Jeff Beck was leading the tribute band. Wow !
Emerson, Lake and Palmer
I had no idea Les Paul had anything to do with the song "Peter Gunn". I always thought of the Henry Mancini when anyone mentioned "Peter Gunn".
Dick Dale
If you are old enough to remember the old "Peter Gunn" T.V. show, you will remember the cool Craig Stevens character and his hang out jazz club. Since I was an impressionable young man, the character of the hot female jazz singer, played by Lola Albright, made quite the impression as well.
DEODATO
Here are several links to Youtube videos each doing the same song:
"PETER GUNN"
Get your head phones ready this is gonna be a hell of a ride.
The Ventures
There were more artists but we thought this would be enough for one night. Have fun !
