I guess it all started with the new fence for the back property line. I chose a tall wire fence. The only problem was you could see right through it into the neighbor's backyard. The polite resolution was to plant a few roses against the fence and let nature take it's course.

Well that started it. Never send a semi-retired guy on an errand. You never know what major project it might become.
My three or four roses have turned into a full fledged semi-formal rose garden with foot paths, stone borders and forty some odd different kinds of roses.

This little blog will be a picture story as time, work, sweat and weather bring about the end product. Here is the first installment shot in March of 2012.
Oh well...add it to the retirement package and call it fun.

I'm not sure what my wife mate thinks of all this turmoil. I get the feeling she lets it go with the idea that it's a good way to keep me out of mischief.
