Ride em Cowboy ! |
April 6, from 11 to 5 p.m., 2013, the Chuck Wagons for Christ outfit, will coordinate an event allowing the Cowboy cooking community to honor our military wounded. The event takes place at the Equestrian Center in the San Antonio Military Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. SAMMC is the former Brooke Army Medical Center where the military cares for it's wounded.
This annual western extravaganza might be classified as part cowboy feast, part family social, part wild west show, part Christian music concert, part rodeo, part fiesta and part church service....it's hard to describe but everyone has a great time.
If these two had a good time it was all worth it ! |
In this "headline" blog, you will find links to picture stories depicting every aspect of that special weekend. Just click on the red linked words.
Cowboy's for Heroes needs your donations to pull this thing off. The event has grown to the point it's no longer something a few old cowboys can handle by digging into their pockets. The 501C3 needs your help, badly. They have some corporate help but need a lot more. Each year it seems more and more families show up. They fed about 1500 for the past couple of years.
Hey ! I believe in what Cowboy's for Heroes is doing. Join Amy and I in helping the Cowboy cooks say thank you to our war wounded.
