Music...Traveling music for the road warriors....

To my friends and colleagues,

Here are five songs and artists I have enjoyed over the years. I send them out with friends in far places in mind. Some of you will be stuck away from your family this weekend. Others will be racing for planes and a chance to spend some time at home. Or you might be at home and could use a little "take me away" music. Whatever the situation, I hope these tunes cut you a little slack. Headphones suggested.

From long, long ago and a place far, far away some songs never quite leave us. This is one.

Two of present day's finest rock and roll artists combine to give a great version of this blues, now rock, classic.

Joe Bonamassa & Eric Clapton "Further on up the road".

Baker Street is just one of those songs that makes you appreciate new artists. When this breakout song came along I had never heard of Gerry Rafferty. After hearing it I never forgot him. It's a great arrangement.

This is a great rendition of Plant's earlier work. Listen to the drummer build the song.

Alison Kraus and Robert Plant do "Black Dog".

Warren Haynes, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks doing the Etta James song "I'd rather go blind". Warning this is a White House performance.

I hope you enjoy the music !

Life's purpose is not to arrive at the grave with the body in good shape. Hell no, you want your body worn slap out, skidding in sideways, eyes bloodshot, hair smoking and all the while hollering "Yee Haw !! ...  What a ride !!"
