1966 was good year for American music. No longer were the English dominating the charts. There were new as well as familiar names topping billboard that year. I normally try to pick three but this year I had to add a few. They were just too good to leave off.

Picking the favorites is simple. I look over Billboard's Top 100 for the year and choose the ones that stand out on a long run basis. Your opinion will probably differ. That's a good thing. Variety, as they say, is the spice of life.
