The 7th Annual Cowboys for Heroes

For three days, starting on Good Friday, March 30 thru April 1, 2012,  the Chuck Wagons for Christ outfit, coordinated an event allowing the Chuck Wagon community to honor our war wounded. The event took place at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. SAMMC is the former Brooke Army Medical Center where the military cares for the wounded from all branches.

If you've never eaten from a chuck wagon, nor seen the way Christian Cowboys and Cowgirls thank the soldiers and their families,  you've missed something very, very special. This annual western extravaganza might be classified as part three day feed, part family social, part wild west show, part Christian music concert, part rodeo, part fiesta and part church service....it's hard to describe but everyone has a great time.

In this "headline" blog, you will find links to picture stories depicting every aspect of that special weekend. Click on the red linked words describing the activity you would like to see and it will take you to the story.

Enjoy !  And please don't forget, if you would like to help, contact Wagon Boss (Aubrey Lenamon). He needs all kinds of assistance pulling together the money, materials and people it takes to put on this kind of shindig. It is a ton. He sure could use your help.    aubreylenamon@yahoo.com
